"Elephantine" Photography Public Installation On View September - November 2020

My photographic installation, “Elephantine” about perceptions of beauty and the skin we’re in is on view now at Parlor Hair Studio in Montclair, N.J. on Glenridge Avenue 24 hours a day, visible from the street. Part of Fresh Air Montclair Exhibitions, an initiative to put art in store windows during the pandemic, the piece is comprised of black and white digital and darkroom photography, original poetry, and a reproduction of one of my original paintings. As part of the project and for community engagement, postcards are available at the site inviting participants to share some writing about the skin they’re in or about another’s skin they love. The post cards can be anonymous and are left alongside the project as testament to our shared and individual experiences of the physical body and our unique interiority. Click to see all the images!
